I’m back from the longest blog break ever! It has been close to a month since I’ve posted anything but I’m ready to get back on track. Apparently my grandparents thought I moved the blog and forgot to tell people. Yep, I need to get with it. So I guess I’ll start back with Christmas and go from there. I feel like a lot has happened since then. We had a crazy holiday visiting family, Emma had her surgery at Vandy, I turned the BIG 3-0, and just the everyday stuff with 2 little monkeys. I should say though that Emma’s surgery went very well and she did great. She was the best little patient ever and we have a follow up appointment on her birthday in a couple of weeks. Woohoo, the big 5!
Anywho, I’m just going to post pictures tonight from Christmas and I promise to get back on track this week. Baby steps, right?
I absolutely love this picture of Hudson & Graham. They are best buds!
Daddy & Hudson on Christmas morning. Of all the mornings for Emma to sleep in, we had to wake her up at like 9am on Christmas morning. I couldn’t believe it! That never happens.
She was so funny with her Santa gift. We got her a Barbie Jeep b/c she wanted Santa to surprise her and then she didn’t want anything to do with it. I think she was just really overwhelmed with us all taking pictures & video. She eventually warmed up and was very excited to open her presents.
Since we were at Gabby & Ru-Rus’s house for Christmas morning, we did our family presents/stockings first and then went upstairs to do gifts with Gabby, Ru-Rus, Aunt Beth, Rob, and the boys. It’s always a big fun mess!
I love this of Ru-Rus and his doodlebugs!
This year the big girls all sported matching pjs…
I might be disowned after sharing that picture but I think it’s really cute!
Speaking of cute, check out these two monkeys…
After Christmas morning with G’s family, we headed to my Granny Dunham’s house which is about 20 minutes away. My cousins John and Sarah, who I haven’t seen in a really long time, came up from Nashville. It was so good to see them!
My family doesn’t do a big gift exchange but I sure did eat lots of yummy food! My Granny Dunham makes the BEST dressing (thanks to Stovetop!).
Somehow we only got part of the family in the picture below and I wish we would’ve gotten everyone.
We headed over to Granny Scott’s house from there and got to see lots more of my family. We had fun seeing everyone and I was the master winner at ping pong! Somehow I hardly took any pictures but I did find this one of Granny that I like. We got her a very tasty smelling candle from Bath & Body Works.
The kids were exhausted at this point and we headed back to C-ville for one last Christmas with Aunt Kathy, Jack, Amy, and Matt. They were finishing up dinner when we got back and we were just in time for gifts. I think the best gift of the night was the matching pink pigs for Gabby and Aunt Kathy. They have this thing with pigs and they always do a pig snort after singing happy birthday. I’m not sure where or when the pig obsession started but I’m looking forward to seeing this lovely pig in the front yard next Christmas!
Christmas this year was a blast especially now that the kids are both getting older. We had so much fun spending the week with friends and family. Oh and I almost forgot-we went to see the Rockettes on Christmas Eve in Nashville! George got us tickets and we took Emma and my friend Tammy. Such a good time!
Oh and I almost forgot about this picture. I LOVE this picture of Emma and Ru-Rus. Adorable!
And somehow this picture was hiding too. Gabby & Hudson…
Alright, that’s all I’ve got for tonight! My brain shuts down at 8pm so I’m really pushing it since it’s after 9. Thankfully the kids went to bed super easily tonight so I’m going to watch some mindless tv and get in the bed. Momma is tired today!
I promise to not wait a month for another update & pictures.
